About Dr. Richter
A licensed naturopathic physician (ND), attends a four to five-year, graduate-level naturopathic medical school and have been educated in all of the same basic sciences as an MD, but also studied holistic and nontoxic approaches to therapy with a strong emphasis on disease prevention and optimizing wellness. In addition to a standard medical curriculum, the naturopathic physician is required to complete four years of training in clinical nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, psychology, and counseling (to encourage people to make lifestyle changes in support of their personal health). A naturopathic physician takes rigorous professional board exams so that he or she may be licensed by a state or jurisdiction as a primary care general practice physician.
Dr. Richter is a two-time graduate of Bastyr University, the leading institution in Natural Health Medicine. From Bastyr she earned a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Herbal Sciences. In addition to these degrees she also earned a certificate for Massage from Bastyr University and Cortiva Institute and holds a license in the state of Washington as a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Naturopathic Physician license . In addition to the required coursework, Dr. Richter also did elective study in Craniosacral therapy, Homeopathy, Ayurvedic Medicine, Aromatherapy, Pain management, and IV Therapy. Dr. Richter's clinical rotations included primary care, physical medicine, homeopathy, IV therapy, Counseling, HIV/Immune Wellness, Women's Health and off-site at the Carolyn Downs Clinic providing care to under-served populations. Dr. Richter has volunteered with Alternative Healthcare Access Campaign (Ahac) at the Frye Apartments in Seattle.
